Cliff Hanger is a Virtual Reality experience I built on Unity3D for an art class.
You’re stuck on a tiny ledge midway down a huge cliff. It’s windy, loud, and terrifying. Especially if you’re afraid of heights. This piece is intended to allow you to get a taste of the forbidden fruit of death-defying experiences. It is a world that resembles our but is clearly not ours, filled with contradictions and surprises. Hyper-realistic textures contrasts with the abstracted world. Rocks float but you fall. The experience is simulated by attaching tracking sensors to the user’s ankles, and having them stand on a slightly elevated plank against the wall. The powerful sound and wind effects isolate the user and immerse them in the virtual environment.
